Project Details

Design Process:
Montana Conservation Corps was looking for a unique way for the highlights of their strategic plan to live outside the confines of a multi-page, content-heavy document. I worked with MCC to distill the content of their six-page strategic plan into a one page poster that could be easily shared with stakeholders of the organization and printed out to display at locations where staff and corps members would see it. We collaborated on identifying key content and visuals before developing and refining a number of concept sketches. The iconography and illustrated landscape tells a story while capturing the challenges and goals of their four year strategic plan in a fun, engaging, and easy-to-digest way.

Impact:
The infographic was distributed to board members and donors wanting to make larger contributions. The poster was put up on the walls in MCC offices in a frame..

How this helps the planet:
The organization inspires the next generation of environmental stewards by providing hands-on experiences for young adults in conservation, service and stewardship of the land. Participants improve trails, plant trees and treat noxious weeds non-native to Montana while learning leadership, teamwork, civic engagement and work training skills. These are the future heroes of conservation and stewardship.

Rough sketches showed concepts around a trail map, mountain climbing and a landscape illustrating "a day in the life" of an MCC Corps member.

The concepts come together with more refined digital sketches showing brand fonts, color selection, and illustration style.
