Drawing About Public Lands
Until this past year, I don’t think I fully appreciated or understood the value, essence or true beauty of public lands. In a day and age where more and more space around us is being developed into highways, neighborhoods and big box stores, this land that belongs to all of us is becoming increasingly more important to our sanity and well being.
It took seeing these places for me to understand why public lands are important.
Since last June, I’ve traveled 20,000 miles around the United States and have spent my fair share of time utilizing public federal & state land.
The physical and mental space that public lands give us – the freedom and opportunity to camp, roam, relax, be curious, – is so valuable, and I appreciate it now more than ever.
So, get out there and enjoy it, take all the space you need and, of course, don’t forget to respect it and take care of it!
