I spent the week in the Vail Valley in Colorado, about two hours (Salty drive time) West of Denver in the Rocky Mountains. I lived in this area for over two years and, this week, I remembered why I loved it. My first job out of college was at Colorado Mountain News Media, I lived in the mountains, went snowboarding every day and worked second shift designing newspaper ads at night. Needness to say, I have a lot of fond memories of the place. I spent some quality time catching up with my friends and enjoyed rediscovering some of my favorite quiet places to work…Bookworm in Edwards, Loaded Joe’s in Avon and one of the coolest libraries in the world - the Avon Library (it looks like a cabin inside!).
I had some unique experiences this week, such as taking my gal pals to the Blue Starlite Mini Urban Drive-in in the van, camping alone in the wilderness (I borrowed a dog - see photo below) and working slopeside on a lovely sunny day at Beaver Creek Village.
Thanks for following along! 1,500 miles on the odometer!
